- Submit a River Sentinel Story

Over the years, we've found many inspiring stories of River Sentinels working to protect Minnesota's Rivers. From the students who found and helped correct a spike in phosphorous levels in the Mississippi River near Grand Rapids to the Cannon River Watershed Partnership's 60 plus citizen volunteers who annually gather data documenting pollution and contributing to watershed-wide problem solving, every story teaches us new lessons in protecting the streams we care most about and shows the world the power of grassroots, citizen-based river conservation.

Are you a River Sentinel? We'd like to include stories about your work on a Minnesota River. Who are you? What creek, stream or river are you working on? Tell us about it. What kind of data are you gathering (or using)? How is it used to inform and foster actions to protect and restore the river? Tell us about your triumphs and challenges. What has been most helpful for you? What gets in the way? What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a River Sentinel?

Instructi
ons: In 500 words or less, please submit your River Sentinel Story. Include the name and location of your river, as well as the river basin it is located in. Make sure to include your name and phone number so we can follow up with you. In the email, please include RIVER SENTINEL STORY in the subject line.

We'll share your story with others and add your voice and experience to the growing network of River Sentinels in Minnesota. Thanks for sharing your River Sentinel story!
